Current Opportunities
SVMA has nearly 200 volunteers who contribute to the museum in a variety of ways. They welcome visitors, prepare and promote exhibitions, raise funds, and help manage the facility and its activities by serving on the board of directors and advisory council. Docents have unique opportunities to interact with local artists and to learn about art and art history. They participate in a special training program, make a two-year commitment to the museum, and receive briefings from exhibiting artists to aid in answering visitor questions. SVMA works with La Luz Center to recruit and train bilingual, Spanish-speaking guides.
