Realism Drawing and Mixed-Media Class

September 3, 2014 to October 8, 2014

A six-week class, with each weekly session focusing on a particular artist in the Realism, Really? exhibition.  Assignments are based on considering the artist’s ideas, rather than focusing on technical exercises. Some of the projects include playing with light and shadow, making an optical apparatus to view artwork through a different lens and using plaster to create a personal artifact. We will cover observational drawing, drawing from memory, drawing aided by digital technology and transfer drawing. We will also cover printmaking, painting and sculpture.
