Springtime in Sonoma• Jeff Wiggins & Joe Olivo

 

Come for cocktails at a mid-century gem nestled on Sonoma’s Eastside. Designed by the owner around dramatic sightlines facing north, east and west, the home is filled with an eclectic collection of art, and surrounded by extensive gardens. Taste hors d’oeuvres by Linda McColloch, listen to music and stroll the garden to smell the many roses. Ahhhh, Spring!

With cocktail and appetizer in hand, tour the contemporary art collection and 1886 historic home of Kimberly and Simon. Then stroll down the street to Keith and Cherie’s for a catered main course in their newly remodeled 1907 Craftsman where old artfully meets new. Circle back with a stop at Suzanne and Jack’s fun, art filled home for dessert, coffee and cordials. All this in one block!

Poolside at Sonoma Dream • Byron Hancock & Len Handeland

 

Join Byron Hancock & Len Handeland poolside for sunset cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres by Catherine Venturini. The home was originally designed and constructed by local master builder Kip Hoxie for his own family in 1995. In 2010 Byron and Len created Sonoma Dream by adding gardens, a pool and a pool house nestled between majestic oak trees. The tranquil five-acre sloping hillside setting overlooks the Gundlach Bundschu vineyards.

Organic, Energy Wise & ElegantChristine Russell & Mark Schlesinger

 

Christine and Mark have designed and built a straw bale home, certified LEED Platinum, as the centerpiece of their 33-acre organic farm on Sonoma’s Eastside. Wear comfortable shoes and take a stroll through the garden. Follow winding paths to explore the tomato patch, chicken coop, apiary, and pond before enjoying a Bloody Mary made with their own brand of Bloody Mary mix. Settle down to a poolside lunch prepared with ingredients grown on the farm.

Wining & Dining on Wolf Run • Val Thomas & Tripp Hunter

 

 

Seattle residents Architect Val and Tripp fell in love with Sonoma Valley on a 1998 visit and built a home on Wolf Run in Glen Ellen. In the ensuing years they built a guesthouse, pool, and a music room to showcase their grand piano. Take in the breathtaking view from their patio while enjoying a sit-down wine country lunch, preceded by cocktails and the possibility of a little music from that grand piano.

Enjoy cocktails while exploring the abundant organic gardens of Judy and Les Vadasz, followed by dinner featuring highlights of the harvest. Dinner will be prepared by Chef John Toulze of The Girl and the Fig in the beautifully renovated barn, and accompanied with wines from the Vadasz vineyards. As part of a late summer’s dream experience, a quintet performance will entertain you as the sun sets.

Before a tour of their private gallery, join hosts Fay and Richard for a catered lunch on the terrace of their home in Bennett Valley with views all the way to Mt. Diablo. Their extensive collection includes contemporary and vintage photography (Man Ray, Mapplethorp, Cartier Bresson, Annie Lebovitz, Ansel Adams are just a few), as well as works on paper, oils and sculpture. The couple have been collecting for 40 years and have shared pieces with the Smithsonian and various museums for public exhibition (e.g., SVMA).

Join Paige and Bobby on 7th Street East at their modern farmhouse. Start with cocktails and appetizers on the deck overlooking the vineyards. Adjourn to the living room to finish your evening and sit by the fire for sweets and cordials where a jazz guitarist will play. Join Rori and Bob for cocktails and music at their lovely new home on Castle Road. You will start things off with a beverage and a seated recital given by Ian Scarfe a pianist with the SF Conservatory. Afterwards step outside to enjoy cocktails and appetizers in the Smith’s expansive, beautifully landscaped backyard-a perfect Indian Summer afternoon in the wine country.

A renovated 1880 cookshack lies hidden on a half acre along Nathanson Creek, just a few blocks from the Plaza. The tiny jewel box of a cottage and separate work studio are filled with exquisite design details. Join Josh and Steve for cocktails and appetizers poolside in their brick courtyard.
