Talking Realism: F. Scott Hess and Chester Arnold

October 11, 2014
3pm

F. Scott Hess has been described as a “New Old Master.” His narratives blend realistic scenes of everyday life with symbolic and allegorical events, humor, eroticism, and voyeurism.  Arnold’s landscapes evoke 19th century romanticism tinged with contemporary realities and the artist’s peculiar preoccupations.  Join the conversation as Arnold and Hess hash out the facts and fictions, observations and fabrications, and realities and myth that comprise storytelling and painting in the 21st century.
