Poetic Collaborators: Poetry, Adaptation & Visual Interpretation

April 21, 2016
6pm

SVMA and Sonoma County Poet Laureate Iris Jamahl Dunkle present a special evening of poetry and art, inspired by the work of contemporary calligrapher Thomas Ingmire. Ingmire has a long and acclaimed career of collaborating with poets to visually interpret their work. Featured are Northern California poets who work in the space of adaptation: Iris Jamahl DunkleGreg Mahrer, and Dean Rader. Joining them from the UK is special guest, poet David Annwn

The poets will read their recent works, followed by a discussion and Q & A around the collaborative practice of adaptation and interpreting the spoken word through expressive mark making. Thomas Ingmire provides the evening's introduction.
