Members' Opening Reception for Site and Senses: The Architecture of Aidlin Darling Design

December 20, 2013

Join fellow SVMA members at the opening and preview of the new exhibition Site and Senses: The Architecture of Aidlin Darling Design. The Museum is dedicating its entire 5,000 square foot exhibition space to the multi-sensory explorations that guide the design process at Aidlin Darling Design. The San Francisco firm’s first solo exhibition features models, sketches, renderings, material palettes, full-scale mock-ups, photography and video. The focal point of the exhibition is C-Chassis, a site-specific, 55’–long charred construct. Visitors to the exhibition will gain an appreciation of the important role the senses play in the work of this award-winning design team, through their experiences of looking, listening, smelling, touching, testing, and imagining.
