Crimes Against Art!

The issues of theft, forgery and the destruction of art and architecture abound from antiquity to the modern world. Regulations and laws protecting art are notoriously light and ineffective. Of the tens of thousands of art works stolen or destroyed each and every year, fewer than 10% of the culprits are ever caught.  Some of these heists were brilliant and others were so foolish that one wonders how such flimsy schemes could have been dreamed up. Join SVMA Executive Director Linda Cano and art historian Ann Wiklund in a two-part exploration of this fascinating topic.
