On Saturday night at the Museum’s annual “Rouge” fundraising party, local entrepreneur and Museum board member Calvin R. Vander Woude announced a strategic donation of $100,000, specifically to expand the Museum’s education and public programs. Starting this fall, the “Calvin R. Vander Woude Lively Arts Series” will become an important new fixture on the North Bay’s cultural calendar. . . .

SONOMA, CA – The Sonoma Valley Museum of Art announces extended Friday hours as part of the Sonoma Chamber of Commerce’s “Downtown Friday Nights” promotion. The Museum will remain open until 8:00 p.m. on Fridays from June 4th through September 3rd to offer additional viewing opportunities to visitors and Valley residents enjoying the longer days of summer and Friday evenings dining and shopping around Sonoma Town Plaza. The Museum is located at 551 Broadway, just steps from Town Plaza. . . .

Seven Sonoma Valley residents have joined the Board of Directors at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art. These new Board members were elected for three-year terms at the Museum’s recent annual meeting. New to the Board are real estate broker Gerrett Snedaker, communications specialist Bob Gardner, real estate technology consultant Steven Hightower, media consultant Daedalus Howell, Sonoma Valley High School art instructor Owen Tuttle, architect Jeff Zimmerman, and designer Ann Jones. . . .

SONOMA, Calif. — Wet Paint – the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art’s annual gala fundraiser – takes on a French twist this year and moves indoors to a new venue. The event, now called “Rouge!” is scheduled for the evening of August 7 at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art. “It focuses the energy of the event, having it at the Museum, and lets us build the excitement in a way that wasn’t possible outdoors,” says event chair Allan Grosh. . . .
